NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Flagler women's and men's cross country team held second and seventh place in week three of the NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, released by the U.S Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday afternoon.
On the women's side, the Saints remained at No. 2 for the second week in a row. Wingate University took first in the poll while the University of North Georgia was slotted behind Flagler.
The Flagler men have maintained seventh place since the preseason regional poll in late August. The Saints were followed by No. 8 Lees-McRae College, No. 9 Lincoln Memorial University and No. 10. Lenoir-Rhyne University. Wingate took first above Augusta University and Anderson University.
The Saints did not race last week in the Florida Atlantic Invitational due to Hurricane Ian.
Next, the men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Tallahassee, Florida for the Florida State University XC Open on Oct. 7.
