ST. AUGUSTINE - The No. 24 Flagler College women's soccer team earned its sixth shutout of the season after downing Young Harris College, 6-0, Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.
Andrea Fernandez scored four goals in the victory, tying the program's single-game record.

Ashley Martin. "We can't thank them enough for their commitment to this program over the years, so it was only fitting that they showed their quality this afternoon."
The Saints (10-3-2, 8-1-1 PBC) scored the first goal of the afternoon in the 10
th minute on a penalty kick from
Brin Wexler. Wexler sent the ball into the lower left corner of the goal to earn her second goal of the season.
In the 30th minute, Fernandez netted her first goal of the day after she dribbled past defenders and nailed a shot in from the edge of the box into the top right corner of the net. Just over a minute later,
Josefine Nilsen sent a quick cross to Fernandez allowing her to launch the ball into the goal to give the Saints a 3-0 lead going into the second half.
Young Harris (4-10-0, 4-6-0 PBC) was unable to keep up with Flagler's pace and only took one shot in the first half, while the Saints took 13 shots. Fernandez capitalized on the team's momentum and netted her hat trick in the 77th minute on a rebound that hit the post. Just 30 seconds later,
Jess Leach netted her first goal of the season after she received a feed from
Emery Biggs to make it a 5-0 game.
Fernandez scored her fourth goal of the game tying the single-game record in the 83rd minute. Biggs chipped the ball from the left side of the field into the box to connect with Fernandez to finalize the 6-0 score.
The Saints controlled the tempo, holding a clear advantage in shots (29-3), shots on goal (18-3) and corner kicks (7-1).
Madison North made three saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season.

The Saints look ahead to the Peach Belt Conference women's soccer tournament that will begin Oct. 28. The bracket will be released early next week.
