ST. AUGUSTINE – Missouri Southern State University belted four home runs, including two from Grant Harris, in its 13-5 victory over Flagler College in a non-conference baseball game Friday afternoon at Drysdale Field.
Missouri Southern improved to 2-0 while Flagler dropped to 0-2.
Dexter Swims hit a three-run blast in the first inning and Henry Kusiak hit a two-run shot to left to give the Lions a 5-2 lead.
Harris hit his two home runs in consecutive at bats in the fourth (solo) and fifth (three-run). Those were his only two hits of the game and accounted for all of his runs batted in (four).
Trailing 6-2 going into the bottom of the fourth,
Chase Frady hit a three-run home run down the right field line to pull the Saints to within a run.
Missouri Southern answered with a four-run fifth and a three run sixth. The Lions pounded out 14 hits.
Will Bausinger (1-0) picked up the win for the Lions. In 5 2/3 innings, he allowed five runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.
Swims went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Tommy Stevenson collected two singles and scored three runs.
Jake Kaufman went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored for the Saints.
Colt Mink (0-1) allowed five runs on three hits in 3 1/3 innings of work. He fanned five batters.

Chris Monteleone,
Nick Phifer, and
Sam Cooper all saw time on the mound.
The same two teams will meet tomorrow at noon for the final game of the three-game series at Drysdale Field.
