AUGUSTA, Ga. – Kennedi Manning recorded a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds to help lead Augusta University to a 68-43 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Augusta improved to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the Peach Belt. Flagler is now 4-6 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
The Saints closed the deficit in the second quarter to two points after a
Tori Pearce layup with 3:48 remaining. Flagler trailed by as many as eight in that quarter.
The Jaguars answered by going on a 13-2 run over the next 7:18. Augusta led 33-25 at the half after scoring the last six points of the quarter.
Zairya West added 17 points for Augusta.
Monique Bryant led the Saints with 11 points.
Tori Pearce grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds and added four steals.
Flagler was held to season-lows in shooting percentage (30.5), three-point field goal percentage (22.2), and free throw percentage (25.0).
Flagler remains on the road where it will face No. 2 (WBCA Division II Top 25) Lander University on Wednesday (Feb. 17) at Greenwood, South Carolina. The Saints led by nine through three quarters the last time the two teams met in St. Augustine.
