GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
Jaziana Mathis and
Tori Pearce combined to score 25 points as Flagler College fell to the University of Florida 101-56 in a women's basketball exhibition game Friday evening at the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
Pearce tallied 12 points, six rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Mathis led Flagler with 13 points, seven of which came from the free throw stripe.
Taylor Gardner, a freshman from Jacksonville, Florida, was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field as she tallied eight points.
The Saints played well in the fourth quarter as they scored 23 points. In the game, Flagler made 20-of-27 from the free throw line.
Alberte Rimdall led three Gators in double figures with a game-high 19 points. She made 7-of-9 shots from the field. Zipporah Broughton and Taliyah Wyche each scored 16 points. Lavender Briggs grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
Flagler tips off its 2021-22 season on Nov. 12 against Anderson University at 11 a.m. in the first game of the Southeast Region Crossover at Flagler Gymnasium.
