DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
Jaizec Lottie led four players in double figures with a game-high 24 points as No. 2 (NABC Division II Top 25) Flagler College coasted by Spring Hill College 99-71 in a non-conference men's basketball game Saturday evening at the ICI Center to conclude the Bahama House Shootout.
Flagler improved to 3-2 while Spring Hill is now 0-3.
The Saints opened the game on a 15-3 run and never trailed in the game. Flagler's 99 points scored were the most since that same amount on Feb. 22, 2020 at Georgia Southwestern State University.
Lottie added seven assists and five rebounds while
Chris Metzger added 16 points, seven rebounds, and tied his career-high with five assists.
Chase Fiddler chipped in with 13 points.
Kohl Roberts contributed 10 points and five rebounds.
The Saints shot a season-best 55.9 percent (38-68) from the floor, including a 64.5 mark in the first half, and tallied a season-best 27 assists. Flagler forced 16 Spring Hill turnovers and converted those into 24 points. The Saints also scored 20 fastbreak points.
David Daniel led Spring Hill, a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, with 21 points. He added seven rebounds and six assists. Denys Bobchuk came off the bench to score 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting and grab eight rebounds. Jaden Gray tacked on 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
Flagler hosts its old NAIA-rival, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
