Saints' season ends in PBC Tournament Semis

EVANS, Ga. — Fourth-seeded Flagler College conceded two early goals versus top-seeded Young Harris College, and it was a deficit the Saints couldn't overcome Friday morning in a Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinal 4-0 loss at Blanchard Woods Park.

The outcome ends the Flagler men's soccer season at 10-8 as top-ranked Young Harris (16-0-1) advances to the PBC Tournament championship.

After the Mountain Lions scored two goals during the five-minute mark, the Saints held them scoreless for the next 64 minutes; however, Flagler couldn't connect on its chances. Of six shots, four were on goal for the Saints while goalkeeper Andrea Lubbia faced 14 shots from the Mountain Lions, including seven on goal.

The senior keeper hauled in three saves in his final match as fellow seniors Al Cooper, Eden Shachar and Joeran Osland all had shot attempts for Flagler. The Saints edged the Mountain Lions in cornerkicks, 5-4.

Mikkel Goling was responsible for Young Harris' second and fourth goal as Sondre Olsen and Saad Maziane netted the other two. Quinn Thompson, Olsen, Federico Gutierrez, Val Feeney and Tony Barry all had assists for the Mountain Lions, while keeper Eduardo D'Avino had four saves.
