Flagler unable to overcome first-half deficit

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — Three first-half goals from No. 5-ranked Young Harris College put the Flagler College men's soccer team in a bind the Saints couldn't overcome in a 4-0 Peach Belt Conference loss at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium Saturday.

The Mountain Lions (11-0, 7-0 PBC) broke the scoreless tie in the 16th minute when Saad Maziane scored followed by back-to-back scores from Mikkel Goling in the 21st and 24th minutes, respectively. Sondre Olsen netted the final goal in the 50th minute.

From there, the Saints (4-6, 3-4) held Young Harris at bay; however, they weren't able to get one back themselves. Matteo Costa led his team with three shots, while he, Jared Fuentes and Marc Birkelund had the lone shots on goal.

Up Next: The Saints step outside of conference play Tuesday with a visit from Barry University, beginning at 6 p.m.
