Berglin’s match-high 10 kills leads Flagler in a sweep on Saturday

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Jordan Berglin recorded a match-high 10 kills and hit .474 to help lead Flagler College to a sweep (25-14, 25-19, 25-16) over Christian Brothers University at the South Region Crossover Saturday afternoon at the AdventHealth Fieldhouse.

Flagler finished the tournament with a 3-0 record, all sweeps, and extended its winning streak to 12 matches. The Saints improved to 17-3 overall. Christian Brothers, a member of the Gulf South Conference, lost its 14th match in a row and fell to 2-22.

Kennedy Muff registered 26 assists and added seven kills. She hit .667 with just one error on nine swings. Rebekah Machovec and Molly Boyd each supplied six kills. Boyd finished with a .667 hitting percentage and added three total blocks. Edie Lamoreaux led the Saints with 13 digs and she tacked on three aces.

Kolbi Reed led Christian Brothers with nine kills and a match-high 15 digs. Kalea Davis added 20 assists.

The Saints used a gaudy .571 hitting percentage to cruise in the first set. Berglin had five kills and hit .833 with six errorless swings.

Flagler closed the second set on a 7-2 run to take a 2-0 advantage in the match. Berglin led the way, again, with five kills and the defense limited the Lady Bucs to a .000 hitting percentage.

A 3-0 spurt early in the third set was all the Saints needed to pull away. Muff was perfect as she recorded four kills on four attempts and added five assists.

Flagler plays its final regular season road Peach Belt Conference match on Friday (Oct. 29) at Lander University.
