GREENWOOD, S.C. – Josh Gregory hit a solo home run and Roury Glanton hit a three-run shot to help Lander University defeat Flagler College 6-2 in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Saturday afternoon at Dolny Stadium.
Gregory's solo home in the fourth inning gave Lander (12-7 overall, 6-4 PBC) a 2-1 lead and Glanton's three-run shot in sixth staked the Bearcats to a 5-1 lead.
That would be enough offense for Lander starter Fraser Ellard (2-2) who allowed one run on six hits in seven innings of work. He struck out five and retired eight on groundouts and another five on fly outs.
Six different Bearcats had one hit. Gregory scored two runs.
Adam Mitchell's solo home run in the fourth knotted the game at 1-all and
J.T. Marr hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth for Flagler (12-8, 4-7).
Josh Shrouder and
Zach Heming each hit two singles for the Saints.
Christian O'Kelley (1-3) surrendered five runs on six hits in five-plus innings.
Blake Hooker and
Austin Kunde finished the game for Flagler.
The same two teams will close out the series tomorrow at 12 p.m.
