ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Rebekah Machovec came off the bench to record a match-high 13 kills to help lead Flagler College to a 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-16, 25-15) victory over Maryville (Mo.) University at the Lindenwood Challenge Saturday morning at the Robert F. Hyland Arena.

Flagler snapped a two-match losing streak and improved to 6-4 overall. Maryville dropped its third match in a row and fell to 3-7.

Rachel Machovec recorded a double-double with 10 kills and she tied her season-high in digs with 16. Kayla Norelli collected a season-high 21 digs while Kennedy Muff notched her second double-double with 38 assists and 11 digs. Jordan Taylor chipped in with seven kills and three block assists.

Flagler limited Maryville to a .076 hitting percentage.

Cassidy Arndt led Maryville with 12 kills and 11 digs while Elizabeth Eardly tacked on 10 kills. Ali Vaughn tallied 21 assists and A.J. Hallemann collected 21 digs.

Flagler led 22-21 in the first set, but a Logan Garcia kill and a block to go along with a Maryville hitting error wrapped it up.

The second set saw Flagler held to eight kills and a .057 hitting percentage.

Flagler went on a 5-0 run in the third set and never looked back. The Machovecs combined for nine of Flagler's 13 kills.

Rebekah Machovec continued to be hot in the fourth set with six kills and a .364 hitting percentage. Muff tallied 14 assists.  

Flagler wraps up the Lindenwood Challenge against McKendree University at 2 p.m. Central.
