COLUMBUS, Ga.– No. 5 (Oracle/ITA Division II) Columbus State University triumphed over No. 18 Flagler College 4-0 in the final match of the Columbus Draw in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tuesday afternoon at the Walden Tennis Complex.
Columbus State improved to 24-4 overall and advanced to the Round of 16 at Altamonte Springs, Florida. Flagler concludes its season with a 17-7 record.
Alessandra Traub and
Eden Schlagenhauf knocked off No. 32 Noa Davico and Luise Sachs 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. That forced a winner take all at No. 3 doubles as both teams had each won a doubles match. Beatriz Lopez and Clara Audap defeated
Paloma Martinez and
Felicitas Runkel 6-3 to record the first team point.
The Lady Cougars went on to win three singles matches in straight sets to clinch the match.
