DAHLONEGA, Ga. –
Aaron Anderson went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, a run scored, and two runs batted in as Flagler College lost to the University of North Georgia 9-4 in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game on a cold and damp afternoon at Bob Stein Stadium.
North Georgia improved to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 6-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The Nighthawks scored a pair of unearned runs in the second inning and never trailed in the game. Josh Profit hit an RBI double to left field, which scored Nik Levensteins who had reached on an error. The next batter, William Mapes, hit a single to drive in Profit.
The Saints countered with a run in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Anderson.
North Georgia put the game out of reach with a four-run fifth inning. Conner Corbitt led off the inning with a home run and later, a two-run double by Crews Taylor chased Flagler starter
Derick Garcia (2-1) and gave the Nighthawks a 6-1 lead.
Sean Lawlor hit a solo home run for the Saints in the sixth and Flagler scored two more in the ninth as the rain fell.
Mapes led the 16-hit barrage for North Georgia as he collected four singles. He scored a run and drove in another. Taylor went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in.
Steven Bower (2-1) allowed two runs on eight hits in seven innings of work. He struck out five batters.
Frankie Martello finished with two singles and he scored a run for Flagler.
Garcia surrendered two earned runs on 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings.

Kyle Hansen pitched in relief.
The same two teams will meet tomorrow (Feb. 23) in the second game of the series with the first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
