WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.– Flagler College cruised to a 7-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic University in a non-conference women's tennis match Sunday afternoon at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
Flagler evened its record at 2-2. Palm Beach Atlantic was playing its season opener today.
The Saints recorded two early wins in doubles to collect the first point of the match.
Lixin Wang and
Eden Schlagenhauf won their match at No. 2, 6-3.
Felicitas Runkel and
Anika Nissen won by the same score at No. 3.
Wang clinched the match with her win at No. 3 singles over Consuela Van Grinsven, 6-2 and 6-4. Runkel and Schlagenhauf went to a pro set to win their matches at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. Nissen,
Alessandra Traub, and
Paloma Martinez won their singles matches in straight sets.
Flagler takes on the University of North Florida in an exhibition match on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Jacksonville.
