Saints finish in 33rd place at the NCAA D2 Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Flagler College finished in 33rd place with 849 points at the NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championship on a sun-splashed Saturday at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course.

Malia Cryan led the Flagler runners with a career-best 6K time of 21:57.2 as she finished in 131st place. Kayla McManama followed in 166th place with a personal-best time of 22:20.1.

Winning the individual title was Stephanie Cotter from Adams State College. She led the 260-woman field with a time of 19:15.5. Cotter's teammates Eilish Flanagan (19:39.0) and Roisin Flanagan (19:39.3) finished second and third, respectively. Ida Narbuvoll (20:12.1) from the University of Mary and Emmanuelah Chelimo (20:18.3) from the University of Alaska Anchorage rounded out the top five.

Adams State had all five point scorers finish in the top 13 to the help the Grizzlies finish in first place with 23 points. Grand Valley State University finished a distant second with 87 points while the Colorado School of Mines finished third with 134 points. Western Colorado University (192) and the University of Mary (233) completed the top five.

Faith Mark crossed the finish line at 23:01.0 for the Saints. Lindsey Williams followed at 23:11.8 while Jessie Mescal broke the tape at 23:30.4. Allison Horwitch finished at 23:33.4 and Lucie Kammer completed the course in 23:52.7.

This is the third time the women's cross country time has participated at the national championships, and it's the second consecutive year.
