Augusta downs Flagler, 3-1

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Rebekah Machovec and Karlie Redfern each recorded double-doubles but it wasn't enough as Flagler College lost to Augusta University 3-1 (25-15, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22) in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Kylie Martin led Augusta (20-7 overall, 4-3 PBC) with a match-high 15 kills, hit .306, and completed the double-double with 11 digs. Madison Malloch added 12 kills coming off the bench. Holland Martin collected 21 digs while Samantha Zittrauer tallied 29 assists. The Jaguars recorded 9.0 total team blocks and was led by Jessica Hedrick and Chloe Allen who both had four.

Rebekah Machovec recorded her second consecutive double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs. Redfern contributed 11 kills and 10 digs to notch her team-leading ninth double-double. Kennedy Muff tallied 37 assists while Kayla Norelli collected a match-high 25 digs. She moved into second place in career digs (1,931) at Flagler. Victoria Bowrosen recorded a career-high eight kills. Jordan Taylor recorded four total blocks and the Saints had 8.0 as a team.  

Flagler plays its last two home regular season matches next weekend starting with Friday's showdown against rival USC Aiken at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
