MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Flagler College women's tennis team wrapped up its fall campaign with the Buccaneer Invitational this weekend (Nov. 8-10) at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
Amelie Vossgaetter won her singles flight with a perfect 3-0 record. She defeated Alexandra Yeardley from Keiser University 6-4 and 6-1 in the quarterfinal round. She followed with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Ivana Djordjevie from Nova Southeastern University in the semifinals. Vossgaetter faced teammate
Paloma Martinez in the finals and won 6-3, 6-0.
Martinez,
Eden Schlagenhauf, and
Alessandra Traub all posted 2-1 records in singles play.
In doubles, Schlagenhauf and Wang went 2-1 as they finished in third place in their flight. Martinez and Traub also went 2-1 as they lost in the finals of their flight, 6-2, to Barry University's Clara Versier and Qianxin Kong.
Flagler is back on the court for an exhibition match at the University of North Florida on Jan. 17 at 3 p.m.
