NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Flagler College women's cross country team moved up one spot to No. 3 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region ranking, which was released Tuesday (Oct. 29).

The Saints successfully defended their Peach Belt Conference title last Saturday at Lumberton, North Carolina.

Flagler is one of five Peach Belt Conference schools in the top 10 region poll. The Saints are the highest ranked team from the league in the top 10. The University of North Georgia follows at No. 4 while Augusta University stayed at No. 7. Columbus State University and UNC Pembroke follow at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively.

Queens University of Charlotte and Wingate University continue to be the two top teams in the region. Lenoir-Rhyne University moved up one to No. 5 and Anderson University dropped to No. 6. Catawba College (No. 10) rounds out the poll.

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. Teams with provisional status within the region may be ranked.
