OAKWOOD, Ga.  – The Flagler College men's cross country team finished in sixth place at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional (10K), which was held Saturday morning on the University of North Georgia's Gainesville campus.

Flagler tallied 195 points and was led by a group of three: Crisman Jones (33:36.84), Aseli Adum (33:39.42), and Connor Norton (33:40.75). The trio finished Nos. 31-33.

"I though it wasn't our best day today," said head coach Brian Beil. "I am very proud of our men for the way they carried themselves all year. We lose a big one next year in Crisman Jones, but bring back a whole lot of young fired up runners on a mission to crack the top three."

Queens University of Charlotte led the 21-team field with 32 points as it had all five point scorers finish in the top 11. The University of Mount Olive was second with 73 points and Augusta University finished third with 98 points. Those three teams will advance to the national championships.

Joshua Chepkesir of UNC Pembroke led the 150-man field with a time of 31:09.96. He just finished ahead of Luke Greer from Carson-Newman University who posted a time of 31:10.23. Both qualify to compete as individuals at the national championships. A triumvirate of runners from Queens finished in third, fourth, and fifth places.

Trenton Liberty finished in 43rd place with a time of 33:59.04 for the Saints. Evan Fuller crossed the finish line at 34:15.70, which was good for a 53rd place finish. Justin Greene finished in 72nd place with a time of 34:58.62.

"They are living their lives as runners," added Beil, "which is the first and most important step toward becoming perennial contenders. I am excited to see where this group will be in another year."
