BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Kris Totoris led four players in double-figure scoring with a game-high 21 points as Flagler College downed Lees-McRae College 81-68 at the PBC-Conference Carolinas Challenge at the Student Center Complex Saturday afternoon.
Flagler levels its record at 1-1 while Lees-McRae fell to 0-2.
"I was excited to see our team be aggressive and yet remain poised today," said head coach
Chad Warner. "We were much tougher defensively this afternoon and we have to continue to play that way to be successful."
Totoris sank four of Flagler's seven 3-pointers.
DeMari Davis recorded a double-double with 14 points and he grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds.
Jeffercy Jean came off the bench to contribute 16 points, thanks to 7-of-9 shooting from the field, and he grabbed six rebounds.
Vaughn McCall tacked on 11 points.
The Saints dominated the rebounding game with a 49-31 advantage. Flagler also sank 28-of-39 free throw attempts, which included going 17-of-20 from the charity stripe in the second half.
Andrew Gardner led the Bobcats with 18 points. Quay Kimble added 13 points.
Flagler went on a 14-4 run midway through the first half to take a commanding 23-11 lead with 7:56 left to go. The Saints took a 37-22 lead into the half and held the Bobcats to 21.9 percent (7-32) shooting.

Flagler will play its home opener on Tuesday (Nov. 13) against Paine College at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
