BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Damerit Brown scored a game-high 19 points, but it wasn't enough as King University defeated Flagler College 90-72 at the PBC-Conference Carolinas Challenge Friday night at the Student Center Complex.
King improved to 1-0. Flagler opens the year at 0-1.
Timothy Taylor led four players in double-figures with 17 points and he added six assists for the Tornado. Mike Salomon and Kalen Clifton each tallied 15 points. Antonio Freeman came off the bench to grab a game-high 12 rebounds.
Brown sank five of Flagler's 11 three-pointers.
Vaughn McCall added 11 points while
Kris Totoris chipped in with nine points.
King went on a 13-0 run towards the end of the first half and took a 47-31 lead into the break.
Flagler takes on Lees-McRae College tomorrow (Nov. 10) at 2 p.m., at Bristol, Tennessee. The Bobcats lost their opener to Columbus State University, 91-84.
