ST. AUGUSTINE – Mikie Rowe scored three goals to lead No. 2 (United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25) Young Harris College to a 4-0 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Saints Field.
Young Harris remains undefeated at 13-0-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler dropped to 4-8-1 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.
Rowe scored the first goal of the match when he converted a penalty kick in the 35
th minute. Fourteen seconds later, he notched his second tally.
Carlos Gomez scored the other Mountain Lion goal and he assisted on Rowe's last goal.
Christian Kjellsby turned in a clean sheet with two saves.
Mel Broughton recorded eight saves for the Saints.
Young Harris out-shot Flagler 19-6, which included a 12-2 spread in shots on goal. The Mountain Lions had 11 corner kick while the Saints had one. Flagler committed 11 fouls while Young Harris was tagged with nine.
Flagler closes out its home schedule on Wednesday (Oct. 24) against Georgia Southwestern State University on "Senior Night" at 7 p.m.
