GREENWOOD, S.C. – Damerit Brown and Vaughn McCall combined to score 28 of their 45 points in the second half in Flagler College's 77-70 loss at Lander University in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Finis Horne Arena.

Lander improved to 6-7 overall and 2-5 in the Peach Belt. Flagler dropped to 4-6 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

The game was a tale of two halves. Lander held a 43-26 lead at the half and led by as many as 24 early in the second half. But Flagler went on a lengthy 33-15 run (13:25) to tie the game at 67 after Jeffercy Jean completed an old-fashioned three-point play with 2:02 left in the game.

The Bearcats scored the final six points of the game, all on free throws, to seal the victory.

Jordan Dingle led four Bearcats in double-figure scoring with 17 points and he added six rebounds. Rahu Purdie and Zane Rankin each scored 13 points while Srdjan Ivic came off the bench to record a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Lander received 30 of its 77 points from reserves, led by Rankin and Ivic.

Brown scored 15 of his game-high 25 points in the second half for Flagler. He made 10-of-18 from the field and sank four 3-pointers. McCall tallied 13 of his 20 points in the second half. He grabbed a career-high eight rebounds. Jean finished with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals. Chris Williams grabbed seven rebounds.

The Saints shot a sizzling 51.6 percent (16-31) from the field in the second half. Flagler had 13 miscues which led to 12 Lander points.

Flagler will host the University of South Carolina Aiken on Wednesday (Jan. 10) at 7:30 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
