SALISBURY, N.C. –
Charlene Nowotny scored a pair of goals off free kicks and the Flagler College defense posted its third consecutive clean sheet in a 4-0 victory over Catawba College Sunday afternoon at the Frock Soccer Complex.
Flagler improved to 4-0-0 overall, its best start since the 2012 season. The Catawba Indians fell to 1-2-0 overall.
The game was scoreless until
Myiah Russack-Cradeur scored her first goal of the season in the 41
st minute.
About two minutes later, Nowotny scored the first of her two goals when her set piece from 30 yards out found the back of the net.
Her second tally came just nine seconds before the end of the first half. Catawba's Hannah Ryan was whistled for a foul, and was given a yellow card for her infraction. The ball was placed at the top of the 18-yard box for a free kick and Nowotny again found the back of the net to give the Saints a commanding 3-0 lead.

th minute,
Annie Habeeb capped the scoring when she dribbled in on the right side and buried a shot from 10 yards out.
Sarah-Lisa Dubel played the first half and faced just one shot.
Maddison Lipson recorded two saves in the second half.
The Flagler defense has not allowed a goal in the last 310:20. The last goal surrendered was in the season opener vs. Eckerd College on Sept. 1. The last time the Saints posted three consecutive shutouts was in 2011.
Flagler out-shot Catawba 11-5 and held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. The match featured 38 fouls with the Saints responsible for 20.
Flagler will remain on the road and opens Peach Belt Conference play on Saturday (Sept. 16) at Young Harris College in a 5 p.m. kickoff.
