ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College tied its season–low for 3-point shooting with a 15.4 percent mark in a 73-56 loss to Lander University in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.
Lander extended its winning streak to four games and raised its record to 9-12 overall and evened its Peach Belt record to 6-6. Flagler dips to 9-12 overall and 3-11 in conference play.
The Bearcats used a 16-4 spurt midway through the second half to build a double-digit lead. JR Washington sank a 3-pointer to give Lander a 17-16 lead with 12:19 to go in the first half to spark the run. Nicklas Jonsson, who scored eight points in the run, closed the 4:33 gap with a 3-pointer with 7:36 to go. Lander held a 30-20 lead at that time and finished the first half with a 42-28 lead.
Rahu Purdie led Lander with a game-high 17 points while TJ Knight and Jonsson each scored 12 points in a reserve role. Washington finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals.
The Bearcats shot 53.1 percent from the field (17-32) in the first half.
Davis led the Saints with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Vaughn McCall each contributed 10 points.
Chris Williams added nine points and he tied his season-high with 15 rebounds. He also blocked three shots.
Flagler hosts division-leading Augusta University on Monday (Feb. 6) at 7:30 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
