Box Score FLORENCE, S.C. – No. 12 (Oracle/ITA Division II) Flagler College opened its Peach Belt Conference season with a narrow 5-4 win over No. 18 Francis Marion University Friday afternoon at the Kassab Courts.

Flagler won its fourth match in a row to improve to 6-1 on the season. Francis Marion fell to 4-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

The Saints held a 2-1 lead after doubles play was completed. Lizanne Jinkertz and Kelly Burge defeated 21^st-ranked Samanatha Koelliker and Marie Krueger 9-7 while Mary Jo Nanti and Patrycja Maslanka edged Eva Lieben and Anna Wintrich by the same score.

Nanti went on to defeat Lieben in three sets – 6-7 (4-7), 6-2 and 6-2 to tie the match at 3-all and Burge's three-set win at No. 3 singles gave Flagler a 4-3 lead. The Patriots took the match at No. 6 and Felicitas Runkel won the match for the Saints with a straight-sets victory.

Flagler will travel to Augusta, Georgia to take on Augusta University tomorrow (Feb. 25) at 10 a.m.
