Cortlin Davis recorded his first double-double of the season, with a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Georgia College defeated Flagler College 65-55 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Centennial Center.
Georgia College won its fourth game in a row and improved to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the Peach Belt. Flagler dropped to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The Bobcats used a 15-0 run in the first half to wipe out Flagler's only lead (9-8). The spurt lasted 5:41. Kohl Roberts scored six points in the run while Isaac Thomas tallied five more. The Saints went 0-for-5 from the floor and had five turnovers.
Jordan Thomas led the Bobcats with 20 points while Thomas recorded a double-double with 19 points and a game-high 21 rebounds. Roberts also finished with a double-double, 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Georgia College forced 19 Flagler turnovers and cashed them in for 16 points. The Bobcats out-scored the Saints inside, 38-24.
Jeffercy Jean added 13 points and six rebounds for the Saints.
Vaughn McCall tallied 10 points.
Chris Williams grabbed eight rebounds and blocked two shots.
Flagler shot a cold 29.2 percent (7-24) from the field in the first half. The Saints trailed 32-19 at the half.
Flagler hosts Augusta University on Wednesday (Jan. 3) at 7:30 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
