PEMBROKE, N.C. –
Taja Valmyr led a balanced offensive attack with 10 kills to go along with a career-best .562 hitting percentage as Flagler College swept (25-8, 25-17, 25-16) the University of North Carolina Pembroke in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Friday night at Lumbee Bank Court.
Flagler won its 15
th consecutive match and improved to 20-3 overall and 9-1 in the Peach Belt. This is the 16
th time out of the last 17 years the Saints have won 20 or more matches, including the last three in a row. UNC Pembroke dropped to 7-25 overall and 0-12 in conference play.
Valmyr only had one error on 16 swings to achieve her best hitting percentage.
Sara Davis added eight kills while Raquel Kulak tacked on five more. Tara Savisky tallied 32 assists while Kayla Norelli collected seven digs.
Flagler hit a season-best .423 with 39 kills and only six errors on 78 swings. The Saints had 10 aces with Rachel Porada collecting three.
Makaylah Elliott led the Braves with six kills. Bailee Jones collected a match-high nine digs and added eight assists.
Flagler continues on its road trip where it will face Francis Marion University tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Florence, South Carolina.
