Oscar Davidsson's goal in the 78
th minute tied the match at 1-all and that would be the eventual final score as Flagler College and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University played 110 minutes in a non-conference men's soccer match Wednesday night at the ERAU Soccer Stadium.
Flagler left with a 3-8-1 overall record while Embry-Riddle is now 1-7-2. Since 1996, the series is tied 11-11-7 and four-of-the-last-five matches ended in a draw.
The Eagles took an early lead after Tim-Frederik Lange scored off an Alex O'Brien pass in the 20
th minute.
Mel Broughton tallied one save for the Saints and received help for a teammate as the Saints were credited with a team save on a shot in the 12
th minute by Embry-Riddle's Christian Mather. Richard Dearle recorded two saves for the Eagles.
Embry-Riddle held a slight 13-12 edge in shots and a 7-5 edge in corner kicks. There were 30 fouls whistled and Flagler was responsible for 22.
Flagler takes on Francis Marion University on Wednesday (Oct. 25) at Florence, South Carolina at 5 p.m.
