Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 10 (Oracle/ITA Division II rankings) Flagler College women's tennis team held on to defeat No. 32 Francis Marion University 5-4 in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Sunday afternoon at the Flagler Tennis Center.

Flagler improved its record to 16-4 overall and 8-1 in the Peach Belt. Francis Marion fell to 14-5 overall and 5-4 in conference play.

The Saints opened the day by winning all three doubles matches. Kelly Burge and Mary Jo Nanti, along with Laura Kelly and Kelly Stewart improved their doubles marks to 16-3 with wins today. Burge and Nanti had to fight off a stubborn FMU tandem of Samantha Koelliker and Marie Krueger, 8-6.

In singles play, Laura Kelly clinched the match with her win (7-6(5) and 6-0) at No. 5 over Anna Wintrich. Lizanne Jinkertz also recorded a straight sets win in singles play.

Flagler will play its final regular season home match on Wednesday (April 13) wen it faces No. 4 Armstrong State University at 3 p.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
