DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Flagler College scored five runs in the fourth inning to power its way to an 8-4 win over Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday night at Sliwa Stadium.
Flagler snapped its four-game losing streak to improve to 2-4 on the season. Embry-Riddle lost its second game in a row and fell to 5-3 overall.
Jake Hathaway was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to cut Embry-Riddle's lead to 2-1 in the fourth inning. An error by the Embry-Riddle shortstop led to another run and then
Bryce Evans followed with a two-run double to right field to give Flagler a 4-2 lead.
Cole Ondrejka chased the starter Troy Naab (0-1) with an RBI single to cap the inning.
The Saints took advantage of more Eagle miscues in the sixth with two unearned runs.
Evans added an RBI triple in the eighth.
Kyle Schackne (1-0) tossed three scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win for Flagler. He allowed one hit and struck out five batters. He was one of six pitchers used on the night.

Michael Maiocco,
Michael Hanke and
Nick Angelastro combined to toss four innings and allow three hits and two runs.
Evans went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in and a run scored.
Igor Baez went 2-for-4 with a double and he scored a run. Hathaway scored three runs.
Naab lasted 3.1 innings and surrendered six hits, four earned runs, walked two and struck out two.
Liam Goodall went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI for Embry-Riddle.
This was the first time these two former NAIA rivals have met since April 26, 2011, which was a 4-0 win by the Saints at Drysdale Field.
Flagler heads to Milledgeville, Georgia for the weekend where it will face Georgia College starting Friday (Feb. 19) evening at 5 p.m.
