Williams’ 32 points and 15 rebounds lead Flagler in rout

ST. AUGUSTINE – Chris Williams made his first 12 shots from the field and finished the game with his third double-double of the season with 32 points and 15 rebounds in Flagler College's 105-71 rout of Florida College Thursday night at Flagler Gymnasium.

Flagler improved to 3-1 on the season. The game was an exhibition for Florida College, a member of the USCAA.

The Saints used an 18-3 run midway through the first half to pull away from the Falcons and take a 49-32 lead. Flagler led at the half 59-40 and shot a red-hot 67.7% (21-31) from the field.

Williams scored 20 of his game-high 32 points in the first half and ended the game by making 13-of-16 (81.3%) from the floor. He had three blocked shots as well. Cortlin Davis added 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds while Vaughn McCall contributed 15 points, four assists and four rebounds. Jeffercy Jean chipped in with 14 points, six assists and five rebounds. Austin Howard tallied 13 points, dished out four assists and grabbed four rebounds.

The Saints' transition game went into overdrive tonight as it accounted for 27 points.

Eddie Moralobo scored a team-high 18 points for the Falcons. Kent Hegarty added 14 points and seven rebounds. Zach Brock tallied six assists.

Flagler has scored 100 or more points in its second consecutive game. The last time that happened was in the 2009-10 season when the Saints defeated Trinity College of Florida (104-66) and Clearwater Christian College (103-73).

Flagler hosts Clark Atlanta University on Saturday (Dec. 4) at 4 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium before breaking for exams.
