AUGUSTA, Ga. –
Sara Davis recorded a team-high 13 kills and added seven digs to go along with six block assists to help Flagler College defeat Augusta University 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18) in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Flagler extended its winning streak to six matches and improved to 17-6 overall and 13-2 in the Peach Belt. Augusta fell to 15-12 overall and 6-7 in conference play.
Davis finished with another high hitting percentage, .462. She only had one error on 26 swings.
Genel Sturgeon recorded a double-double with 11 kills and a season-best 15 digs. She also had six block assists.
Megan Hooks tacked on 11 kills while
Ashley Cheewah contributed 10 kills and had five block assists.
Tara Savisky tallied 44 assists while
Kayla Norelli collected a match-high 21 digs.
Jordan Bickett was the lone Jags player to record double-figure kills with 14. She completed the double-double with 14 digs. Jessica Hedrick and Rachel Windle each recorded nine kills and Blair Bolton added eight. Payton Murchie recorded a double-double with 38 assists and 13 digs. Cat DeSilverster led Augusta with 17 digs and Madilyn Sanderson recorded six total blocks.
The match featured 33 tie scores and 15 lead changes. The first set alone saw 14 ties and eight lead changes.
Flagler will wrap up its regular season with three matches this upcoming weekend. It all starts on Friday (Nov. 11) against Francis Marion University at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
