MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Flagler College volleyball team had some "unfinished business" Friday night at the Centennial Center. Flagler lost 3-2 to Georgia College earlier this year and tonight the Saints avenged that loss with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 28-26) win in a Peach Belt Conference match.
Flagler extended its winning streak to five matches and improved to 16-6 overall and 12-2 in the PBC. The last lossFlagler had was to Georgia College on Oct. 24. The Bobcats dropped to 16-9 overall and 7-6 in conference play.
Three Saints recorded 10 or more kills tonight. Jenae Reddick recorded a season-high 12 kills and hit .357 with only two errors on 28 swings.
Megan Hooks added 11 kills, seven digs and three total blocks.
Sara Davis surpassed a milestone tonight. She needed three kills to reach 1,000 in her career and finished with 11. She is the ninth player in the program to surpass that milestone. Davis finished with a .360 hitting percentage with only two errors on 25 swings and she also recorded five total blocks.
Tara Savisky recorded another double-double with 43 assists and 12 digs while
Kayla Norelli paced the defense with a match-high 23 digs.
Ashley Cheewah added four total blocks.
Ebony Powers recorded a double-double for the Bobcats as she recorded a match-high 13 kills to go along with 16 digs. Taylor Svehla added 11 kills and four block assists. Kayla Brockway had a double-double with 38 assists and 11 digs while Miller Howard collected 17 digs.
Despite the match being a sweep, there were 28 ties and 15 lead changes in the match. In the third set alone, there were 17 ties and 11 lead changes. Georgia College fought off three match points until a Hooks kill ended the set, 28-26, and the match.
Flagler heads to Augusta, Georgia for a match tomorrow against Augusta University at 2 p.m.
