AIKEN, S.C. – Eammon Moore scored his first goal of the season and it came at an opportune time as it was the game-winner in Flagler College's 2-1 overtime victory over the University of South Carolina Aiken Wednesday afternoon at Pacer Pit.
Flagler extended its winning streak to four matches and improved to 4-5-1 overall and 4-2-0 in the Peach Belt. USC Aiken fell to 2-7-0 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play.
Moore headed in
Juan Membreno's free kick in the 98
th minute. Membreno's free kick, from the left side of the field, was lofted to the back post where Moore was able to head the ball in.
The Saints took a 1-0 lead when
Jackie Kay knocked in
Graham Grassmyer's cross in the 16
th minute.
Kayque Stoffel scored the equalizer for the Pacers in the 22
nd minute.
Lex Craggs tallied three saves for Flagler while Orlando Maldovan collected five saves for USC Aiken.
The Saints held a slight 13-11 advantage in shots and a 13-6 difference in corner kicks. A total of 35 fouls where whistled with USC Aiken called for 19.
Flagler will head to the west coast of Florida to face No. 7 (NSCAA Division II Top 25) University of Tampa on Saturday (Oct. 8) at 7 p.m.
