LAKELAND, Fla. – Hassirou Diakite goal in the 37th minute was all of the offense that Florida Southern College would need in a 1-0 victory over Flagler College in a non-conference men's soccer match Tuesday night at Banrett Field.
Flagler dropped to 4-6-1 overall while Florida Southern improved to 6-4-1 on the season.
Callum Carsley sent a free kick to the back post where Diakite was able to put a head on the ball and place it in the back of the net.
Flagler out-shot Florida Southern 13-11 during the match, including 6-4 in the first half.
Cole Clingerman made six saves in the contest for the Mocs and had to make four stops in the first half.
Lex Craggs made three saves during the match.
Pedro Silva accounted for most of the Saints' offensive attack taking three shots on goal. He had four shots total.
Dominic Duffell added three shots, including one on goal.
Flagler will return to St. Augustine for "Senior Night" when the team hosts Rollins College at 7 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 22) at Saints Field.
