ST. AUGUSTINE – Dwight Anderson poured in a game-high 23 points to help lead Georgia College to a 76-61 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Monday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.
Georgia College won its third consecutive game and its fifth in its last sixth games to improve to 14-4 overall and 7-2 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 6-11 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
The Bobcats used an 18-2 run midway through the first half to wipe-out a three-point Flagler lead and take a 27-14 lead with Anderson scoring the last four points in the run. His layup with 4:29 left in the half gave Georgia College a 27-14 lead.
The Bobcats held a 35-29 lead at the half.
Georgia College shot 45.9% (28-61) from the field in the game. The Bobcats also made 10 three-pointers and shot 83.3% (10-12) from the free throw line.
Terrell Harris added 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists for Georgia College. Isaac Thomas chipped in with 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
The Bobcats out-rebounded the Saints 42-31 and had a 30-10 advantage in scoring in the paint.
Keshaun Hamilton came off the bench to lead Flagler with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Matt Clark provided 13 points and five assists.
Kessler Bell and
Vaughn McCall each added eight points.
Flagler was held to a season-low 30.2% (16-53) from the field which included a frigid 29% (9-31) in the first half alone. The Saints did make 84% (21-25) of their free throw attempts.
Flagler will take on Augusta University on Saturday (Jan. 23) at 3:30 p.m. at Augusta, Georgia.
