Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Saints clip the Falcons, 4-0

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Jess Fassnidge scored a goal and assisted on another to help Flagler College cruise to a 4-0 win over Pfeiffer University in a non-conference women's soccer match Sunday afternoon at N.E. Lefko Field.

Flagler remains unbeaten and improved to 2-0-1. Pfeiffer fell to 1-3-0.

The Saints scored three goals in the first half and never looked back. Abby Austin scored her second goal of the season just 7:12 into the game. Fassnidge assisted.

In the 21st minute, Katie Reed scored off Katie Kaim's header which hit the post to push Flagler's lead to 2-0.

Morgan Vidrine scored her first collegiate goal in the 44th minute off a pass from Cassie Fernandez.

Fassnidge completed the scoring with a goal in the 79th minute with Makensie Danaher assisting.

Racheal Cecil played the first half for Flagler and gathered one save. Maddison Lipson played the second half and did not face a shot on goal. Deidre Gilley was in goal in the first half for the Falcons and did not record a save. Kate Halligan had one save in the second half.

Flagler out-shot Pfeiffer 20-8, but the Falcons held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Saints open Peach Belt Conference play on Saturday (Sept. 19) against Clayton State University at 5 p.m. at Saints Field.
