ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College Director of Athletics Jud Damon announced this afternoon a change in its ticketing policy. The biggest change is the admittance of all St. Johns County residents is free, with valid identification.

"St. Johns County residents are our fan base," said Damon. "We need and want them to be excited about Flagler College and our teams. This decision is an expression of our appreciation of them and how much they mean to us."

In the past, Flagler had charged all adults $5. All St. Johns County students, with a valid ID, were admitted free.


"We hope this will encourage our residents-families and individuals alike- to come out and enjoy a high level of college sports at no out-of-pocket cost to them," added Damon. "The atmosphere at our home events is tremendous and we hope this will make it even better."

Other notable changes to the policy are: $7 for adults (non-county); $5 for students with an ID from participating institutions, senior citizens (55 and up), and children (10-17); children under 10 years of age are free along with Flagler College students with their student ID card.

"We are St. Johns County's NCAA team and St. Augustine is our town," said Damon. "As we reach out and welcome all of our citizens, we hope they will embrace their Saints at a whole new level."

Flagler officially opens the regular season on Sept. 3 with a pair of home contests. Volleyball starts it all with a match against the University of Sioux Falls at 6 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium while women's soccer plays host to No. 17 (NSCAA/Division II Top 25) Saint Leo University at Saints Field at 7:30 p.m. Men's soccer will kick off its home schedule on Saturday, Sept. 12 against Peach Belt Conference rival Francis Marion University at 7 p.m. in the conference opener for both.
