ST. AUGUSTINE – Kayla Fuller went 4-for-7 with a double, two home runs, eight runs batted in and scored three runs in Flagler College's doubleheader sweep of Barton College, 12-4 and 8-0, Friday evening at Flagler Field in the opening games of the Flagler Softball Tournament. Both games ended in the sixth inning due to the mercy rule.

Flagler evened its record at 2-2 while Barton opened its season with a pair of losses.

In the opener, the Saints sent 11 batters to the plate in the third inning and scored seven runs on five hits. Fuller hit a bases clearing double and Mallory Allen added a two-run single in the frame.
 
Flagler added three more in the fifth with the help of Fuller's two-run home run and Dreya Monyarji followed suit with a solo shot to left.

Malloree Escue hit a game-ending two-run home run to left in the sixth.

Fuller went 2-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored and she drove in five runs. Lauren Roudabush singled twice, scored two runs and knocked in two more.

Erin Anderson (1-1) picked up the win in the circle after tossing four-plus innings, scattering six hits and allowing three earned runs. Tinsley Smith pitched two scoreless innings and fanned two batters.

Megan Kelly singled twice and scored a run for the Lady Bulldogs. Taylor Bowden belted a two-run home run in the fifth.

Ashlyn Reagan (0-1) tossed three innings, allowed six hits and seven runs, but struck out five batters.

In the nightcap, the Saints sent 10 batters to the plate in the fourth inning and plated four runs. Fuller hits a two-run home run down the left field line, just over the foul pole to put Flagler on top 2-0. The Saints tallied two more runs due to a throwing error later in the frame.

Maddy Murphy hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to stake Flagler to a 7-0 lead and later scored on Fuller's base hit to left to end the game.

Katelynn Smith (1-1) tossed six scoreless innings, allowed just two hits, walked two batters and struck out five. She allowed only one base runner to reach scoring position.

Roudabush singled twice while Conley also collected a pair of base hits, but scored a run and drove in another. Murphy singled, doubled, stole two bases, scored a run and knocked two more in. Fuller singled, homered and collected three runs batted in.

Liz White (0-1) tossed 5.2 innings, allowed 11 hits, six earned runs and struck out six.

She also singled and Samantha Bass had Barton's other base hit.

Flagler plays host to No. 2 (NFCA Division II Top 25) Valdosta State University tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Flagler Field.
