MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Flagler College volleyball team rebounded from a slow start to turn in one of its best all-around performances of the season with a 3-1 (15-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-16) win over Georgia College in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at the Centennial Center.
Flagler has won three-of-its-last-four matches and improved to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in the Peach Belt. This is the first time since Oct. 11-12, 2013 (at Lander, at USC Aiken) where the Saints have won both weekend road conference games. Georgia College has lost four-of-its-last-five games and fell to 7-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Megan Hooks had a big-time match today," said
Matt Affolder, Flagler's head coach. "She has been a force for our offense. Megan had a great weekend since moving to the outside."
Hooks tied her season-high with 16 kills and hit .324 with five errors on 34 swings.
Sara Davis recorded a match-high 17 kills and hit a sizzling .467 with just three errors on 30 swings. She added five blocks to her line. Davis entered the weekend as No. 8 in the country in hitting percentage (.423).
"Sara continues to put up big numbers," said Affolder. The sophomore middle hitter from Akron, Ohio had a team-best 34 kills, hit .452 and recorded nine total blocks this weekend for the Saints.
Taja Valmyr added 12 kills and had three total blocks for Flagler.
Tara Savisky recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 43 assists and 10 digs. Savisky is 24
th in NCAA Division II in assists per set (10.95) going into this weekend.
Jenea Reddick recorded a career-best six blocks while
Ashley Cheewah added five more.
Caitlyn Kovach paced the defense with a match-high 23 digs.
"Caitlyn has turned into a great quarterback of the back row," said Affolder. "She is our coach on the court and has made our back row play aggressive."
Flagler hit just .037 in the first set, but recovered quickly and hit .389 in the second set and then .343 in the fourth set to capture the match. Flagler hit .248 in the match. The 72 digs was the second-highest total recorded by the Saints this year.
Bailey Freeman led Georgia College with 10 kills and hit .474 with only one error on 19 swings. Katie Ray added 17 digs while Kayla Brockway tallied 36 assists.
The Bobcats hit a red-hot .520 (15 kills, two errors, 25 swings) in the first set, but were held to a -.132 in the third set and a .119 mark in the fourth set to finish the game at .148.
Up next for Flagler will be the first of two showdowns with the conference-leading Armstrong State University. Flagler will head to Savannah, Georgia on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match at The ARC. The Pirates have won or shared the last four regular season titles and has won the last three conference tournament championships.
