ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 12 (Campbell's/ITA Division II Preseason Top 25) Flagler College men's tennis program and 21st-year head men's tennis coach Walter Shinn announced the 2012 schedule Monday. Flagler will play 18 matches with 10 played at the Flagler Tennis Center.

Once again, Flagler has one of the most challenging schedules in the country with three of last year's final four participants on the slate. Nine teams are ranked in the preseason top 25.

Flagler opens the season on Feb. 4 at Florida Tech at 1 p.m. The Saints open at home on Feb. 7 against Atlantic-Sun finalist, Stetson University who are coming off a 20-10 season. On Feb. 11, Flagler will visit Palm Beach Atlantic University. The Sailfish were the NCCAA national-runners-up a year ago.

SCAD Savannah travels to Flagler on Feb. 19 for a meeting of old conference rivals. The Bees were ranked No. 22 in last year's NAIA Top 25.

Flagler opens the Peach Belt Conference season on the road (Feb. 25 and 26). The Saints take on No. 15 Georgia College on the 25th and follow at No. 13 Augusta State.

After hosting North Georgia on Mar. 3, Flagler will face Division II national semifinalist Concordia College of New York on Mar. 7. The Clippers are ranked No. 4 in the preseason.

On Mar. 9, Flagler heads to Americus, Ga., to take on Georgia Southwestern. On Mar. 11, the Saints host national quarterfinalist Columbus State University. Flagler follows that by hosting Patriot League champion Army on Mar. 13.

The Saints return the road for a pair of conference matches – at USC Aiken (Mar. 24) and at No. 11 Lander (Mar. 25).

Flagler closes out the month of March at home against No. 2 Barry University. The Buccaneers were the national runners-up last year.

Flagler plays three-of-its-four matches in April at home. On Apr. 1, No. 14 Francis Marion University pays a visit and on Apr. 7, No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State University will take on the Saints.

Flagler faces old conference rival Webber International University on Apr. 11 at Babson Park and then wrap up the regular season on Apr. 14 at home against No. 8 Rollins College.

The Peach Belt Conference Tournament will be held Apr. 20-22 at Greenwood, S.C. on the campus of Lander University. The regionals will be held May 6-8 at a site to be determined and the Division II National Tournament will be held in Louisville, Ky.

Flagler is coming off a 12-8 season and a 7-2 record in conference play, good for a tie for second place.
