Flagler women places 6th at PBC Champs; Taylor Strekel finishes 2nd

Results

AIKEN, S.C. – The Flagler College women's cross country team finished in sixth-place at the Peach Belt Conference Women's Cross Country Championships Saturday morning at Pacer Path.

The Saints tallied 130 points and were led by Taylor Strekel (Stroudsburg, Pa., Stroudsburg HS) who finished second with a time of 23:48.71 over the 6K course. She earned first-team all-conference honors.The University of Montevallo snapped Columbus State University's six-consecutive championships with a total of 44 points. Clayton State University finished a distant second with 74 points. Haley Evans of Montevallo finished first with a time of 23:16.66 and won by over 32 seconds.

Kathleen Casagrande (Spring Lake Heights, N.J., St. Rose HS) finished in 19th place with a time of 24:49.69. Laura McKnight (Jupiter, Fla., Jupiter HS) followed in 23rd place with a time of 24:57.28. KayKay Shaffer (Jacksonville, Fla., Duncan U. Fletcher HS) finished 42nd with a time of 26:24.84. Erin Buning (St. Augustine, Fla., Truman State University) rounded out Flagler's scorers with a time of 26:36.56 and finished 44th.

Nicole Allen (Bozeman, Mont., Bozeman HS) posted a time of 27:03.08 and finished in 49th place. Madeleine Pinaire (New Port Richey, Fla., J.W. Mitchell HS) crossed the line at 28:38.31 and finished in 55th place to round out Flagler's contingent.

Flagler will prepare for its next meet on Nov. 5 at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional at Charlotte, N.C.
