SAVANNAH, Ga. — Rindy Vidovich came off the bench with a match-high 11 kills to lead a balanced scoring attack for the 21st-ranked (NCAA Division II) Armstrong Atlantic State University in a 3-0 win over Flagler College in a non-conference women’s volleyball match Tuesday night.

Vivovich finished the match with an impressive .550 hitting percentage for AASU (3-2). Leah Schmiedge and Adriana Miller each tallied eight kills for the Pirates. Margaret Thornton registered 21 assists and Christina Flores led the defense with 17 digs.

Shelly Jencik (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons HS) led the Lady Saints with nine kills and Jessica Wedemyer (Peachtree City, Ga./McIntosh HS) added eight kills. Carrie Arnette (Keystone Heights, Fla./St. Johns River CC) tallied 20 assists and Lizzie Gomez (Cooper City, Fla./Cooper City HS) paced the defense with 13 digs.

The Lady Saints return to action on Friday as they open the Daytona Beach Blast. Flagler opens with Fontbonne University of St. Louis at 11 a.m. The Lady Saints will also play Kentucky Wesleyan College at 1 p.m. and Hastings College at 5 p.m. Flagler will also play up to three matches on Saturday.
