Dakota Capolino of the women's lacrosse team was selected as the Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Holiday Inn Express for the month of March.
Capolino was selected as the athlete of the week on March 2.
(from the March 2 release) The Farmingdale, New York native helped lead the Saints to a 13-7 victory over then-No. 1 Florida Southern College. While in goal, Capolino was the first goalie to finish with more saves than goals allowed as well as finished with the most saves of any goalie the Mocs have faced this season, with 11. In the fourth period, Capolino shut out the Mocs while collecting five saves. As a team, the Saints held the Mocs to their lowest scoring output of the season. Â
