Ryan Rivas of the men’s soccer team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sept. 29.

Rivas turned in two clean sheets last week and helped lead Flagler to a 1-0-1 record. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native recorded seven saves. He finished with five saves in a 0-0 tie against Lander and then added two saves in a 1-0 win over Middle Georgia.

For the season, Rivas has a 0.75 goals against average and has an 81.2 save percentage. Through eight matches, Rivas has five shutouts, including three in a row. He is second in the nation in shutouts.
