Stella Jelinek of the women's golf team was selected as Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending May 18.

The Leimen, Germany native helped lead the Saints to the medal match play round after carding a 4-over 220 (73-77-70) to finish in a tie for 12th place. Jelinek starred in the medal match play round as she won both of her matches with a 1-under 71. In the quarterfinal match against Anna Nomrowski of West Texas A&M University, she won by three strokes. Jelinek held a four-stroke advantage going into the final hole. In the semifinal match against Nicole Rallo of the University of Central Missouri, Jelinek cruised to a three-stroke win. She was selected to the WGCA All-America and All-Southeast Region teams. Jelinek finished the season with a team-best 71.90 strokes per round average. In 11 tournaments this year, she had seven top 10 finishes (all top fives) and won two tournaments.
