Sydney Stewart of the softball team was selected as Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending Mar. 23.
The Fortson, Georgia native batted .500 as she went 9-for-18 with two home runs, seven runs batted in, and she scored nine runs as Flagler posted a 3-2 record last week. Stewart finished with an .833 slugging percentage and a .609 on-base percentage. In the second game of the doubleheader at No. 24 Barry University, she collected a pair of singles, scored a run, and drove in another. In a 13-12 win over No. 8 University of North Georgia, Stewart had two singles, two runs batted in, and she scored three runs. She scored the game-ending run in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly. In the game Sunday, Stewart went 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored, and she had three RBI.
