Dane Bertolina of the women's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending Dec. 17.
The junior guard averaged a double-double last week with 16.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as the Saints split their two games. She also averaged 5.5 assists per game. The Charlotte, North Carolina native shot 50 percent (13-26) from the field . Against Southern Wesleyan University, Bertolina just missed a triple-double as she finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists. In a loss at Rollins, she supplied 16 points and seven rebounds.Â
Bertolina leads the Peach Belt Conference in rebounding with a 9.6 per game average and assists per game (4.3). For the season, she is averaging 11.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game for the Saints.
