Luisa Hrda of the women's tennis team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending May 16.
This is Hrda's second player of the week honor this month.
The sophomore from Aschaffenburg, Germany went 2-0 at No. 1 singles at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional last week at Dahlonega, Georgia. Her straight sets win at in singles sparked a run of four singles wins by the Saints to fend of the University of North Georgia's upset bid in the semifinal. In the regional final vs. Columbus State University, she defeated the No. 9-ranked singles player in the country for the second time in 10 days.
For the season, Hrda finished with a 14-3 record in singles and was a perfect 9-0 at No. 1. In doubles play, overall she was 11-5, but went 6-2 down the stretch with teammate Amelie Vossgaetter.
